In the event of an accident, there are a number of steps that you must do to properly file a claim and have your vehicle repaired. Below is a check list of the necessary steps you should take when involved in a motor vehicle accident. We are here to help every step of the way!

Step 1: Contact your insurance company. This might be ICBC or a private company such as Canadian Direct Insurance or Family Insurance. You will need to provide the insurance company with your driver’s license number, license plate, and details of the accident in order to obtain a claim number. In some cases, you may be asked to go to a claim centre for an appointment.

As an ICBC Express Repair Facility, our team at TAG Auto Body is able to handle your entire claim from estimate to completion in-house. We can also assist if you are planning to pay for the repairs yourself by providing a complimentary estimate with competitive rates to keep the cost as reasonable as possible.

Step 2: If your vehicle is safe to drive, please let us inspect it before booking an insurance appointment so we can pre-order any required parts to expedite the vehicle repair process. If the vehicle is not safe to drive, it will be towed to our facility with either a partial visual ICBC estimate or no estimate altogether.

Step 3: Once your vehicle has arrived at our facility we will arrange a replacement vehicle for you. We will explain the repairs process with you and have you back on the road in no time!

Step 4: Your vehicle is photographed and all damaged parts are removed. A concise estimate is written along with additional post-teardown photographs. All of our estimates are thoroughly examined by our team of experts. This estimate is then sent to your insurance company for approval. Once approved, we will order all of the necessary parts. When the parts arrive, work begins on the body/frame repairs.

Step 5: Once the body and frame repairs are completed, the vehicle moves to the paint department for a high quality refinish to restore the vehicle to its pre-accident condition. After the painting is completed, the vehicle is inspected by our team for quality of workmanship and re-assembled.

Step 6: We review the repair estimate to ensure we’ve completed all necessary repairs. Any wheel alignments, air conditioning recharges or mechanical work is completed at this time in our facility.

Step 7: Your vehicle receives a full detail and removes any evidence of repair dust or dirt. We vacuum the interior, remove dust, wash the exterior and clean the wheels. We take extra precaution to ensure your vehicle is returned in pristine condition.

A final inspection and review is done with your vehicle by a minimum of two of our TAG Auto Body team members. We notify you that the vehicle is completed and review the repairs with you before returning your vehicle.
